Come join us for Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival, a premier beer, Scotch, wine and spirit tasting experience benefiting the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF). On February 22 and 23, Fremont Studios transforms into a swanky beverage tasting lounge featuring over 80 libations to swirl, sniff and sip. This volunteer opportunity comes with some sweet perks, including free admission to the event, which includes a commemorative tasting glass and five tasting tokens, as well as an official Hop Scotch volunteer t-shirt, and the joy of meeting new people and supporting SIFF. In true TWIF fashion, play follows work, as you will have time at the end of your shift to reap the delicious fruits of your labor with your fellow volunteers!

Get Dirty at Marra Farm

Come join TWIF as we play in the dirt at Marra Farm! Who doesn’t like getting a little dirty while doing good? The sun has finally begun to show up here in Seattle, so let’s go help out in the fresh air on 4 acres of historic preserved farmland in South Seattle! There will be no mud pies we promise, but what there will be some tending & maintaining of Lettuce Link’s Giving Garden.

Marra Farm is an urban community farm that engages the community in sustainable organic gardening provides nutrition & gardening education & enhances local food security. The farm helps to provide to senior lunch programs through the Providence Regina House Food Bank, Mien senior citizens, and Concord Elementary School students and their families.

In an age where childhood obesity is skyrocketing programs like Marra Farm is critical. This farm is possible due to volunteers like you who combined put in thousands of hours of work to produce the wonderful produce & education that comes from Marra Farm.

Kitchen Challenge

Ready, set, cook! The pressure is on with TWIF’s Kitchen Challenge as you join a group of volunteers and, under the guidance of a trained chef, create a meal for 80 people in 90-minutes or less. And to really astound us with your kitchen skills: this is an impromptu menu pulled together on site after assessing what food items are available from the Orion Center pantry.

The Kitchen Challenge will hone your skills as a cook, and more importantly: you’ll help youth on the street keep body and soul together. The feeding program at the Orion Center is integral to staying in touch, building trust, and providing services to Seattle’s street youth.

The group meets at 4:30PM at the Orion Center to prepare the meal, and afterwards you’ll have the opportunity to serve this delicious dish to the youth that utilize the Center.

Join us on Friday, June 7th at the Seattle Art Museum as we co-host Seattle's best art party: SAM REMIX. There will be performances, talks, dancing and more.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the Ticketing Desk at any of SAM's three sites. Remix is an ages 18+ event.

Treehouse WEARhouse

put your inner fashionista to work

We will be working in the Wearhouse, a unique store where foster children shop for free for new and used clothing and other essentials. Volunteers sort, tag and restock merchandise, and work on readying the store for shopping days. The Wearhouse is run by 2.5 paid staff so volunteer power is essential for the success of the program. Volunteers contribute an average of 450 hours per month to the Wearhouse; and thanks to them more than 2,000 foster children shop at Treehouse each year for the things they need and want.

Fremont Fair

Join The World is Fun (TWIF) at the Fremont Fair! This annual tradition is one of our favorite events! Lets be honest, who doesn't love events that couple cold ones and a good cause? At this one we’ll be serving up ice-cold brew for the crowd, all the while giving back to the community! We hope you’ll come enjoy the unmatched energy and atmosphere at the Fremont Fair and join TWIF in helping the Center of the Universe thrive!

After your shift, enjoy a couple cold ones yourself - all volunteers will receive two drink tickets to use as you mingle with your fellow volunteers!

The Fremont Fair is a community celebration that draws 100,000 guests to experience the quirky character of Seattle’s eclectic and artistic Fremont neighborhood. Funds raised at the Fremont Fair benefit a number of area non-profits including Fremont Chamber of Commerce and Solid Ground, a local poverty-focused non-profit who originated and produced the Fair for nearly 40 years.

Kirkland Uncorked

wine pouring for a cause!

Join The World is Fun at Kirkland Uncorked as we serve over 60 different Washington wines! Feel good about supporting the Hope Heart Institute as you trade attendees tokens for wine pours.

Raise your own glass for a toast after your shift - all volunteers will receive 10 free tasting tokens for their hard work.

Kirkland Uncorked is a regional weekend showcase of art, food and wine on the picturesque shores of Lake Washington in Kirkland, Washington at Marina Park (25 Lakeshore Plaza, Kirkland, WA 98033). Benefiting the Hope Heart Institute, Kirkland Uncorked features artist showrooms, a boat show, and dog modeling contest in the Promenade and a Tasting Garden with grilling demonstrations, Washington wine tasting and live music.
